No dehumanizing comments, no racism, no blasphemy, no obscenity, no call for violence against people or property.
I believe in free speech, but I´m not an anarchist.
I believe in rules of ethics and courtesy.
If someone cannot communicate without cursing, cussing, verbally defecating in public or threatening people with murder and mayhem, he has to practice his free speech some place else.
Dehumanizing means calling human beings scum, dirt, shit, dogs, sheep, sheeple and so on…
Human beings are human beings, even people, who do bad and evil things, are still people.
Racism means hating, showing disdain for or denigrating people for being born into a specific ethnic group or with specific skin-color or facial features.
Racism is one of the largest hindrances to a peaceful world.
I do not believe, that people are being predestined to do good or bad by being born in a certain ethnic group or by the genes inherited from their family and ancestors.
While we might inherit certain talents and lack of other talents from our parents, an ethnic group normally has too large a gene-pool to say that all people or even most people in this group have the same or similar talents or lack of them.
And even the genes we inherit make up only a small part of what we are in the end.
Our social and physical environment and our personal choices are far more influential on what we are or what we do, in my opinion.
Blasphemous remarks, denigrating the name of God, Christ or the Blessed Virgin will be deleted.
Rational criticism of religion is welcome, if the topic is religion.
Since I believe that Christians and Muslims should be respectful of one another to overcome any hostility, all remarks considered blasphemous in Islam will also be deleted.
I don´t know enough about other religions to discern, what is considered blasphemous in them.
Obscene remarks (which includes the use of the f…-word) are seen as dehumanizing. They will be deleted.
Rational discussions of sexual issues are welcome, if they are on topic.
Violence and calls for violence are
unethical and against my religion.
They are also counterproductive, if you want a more just and peaceful world, where personal freedoms of individuals are respected by governments.
Calls for violence and threats of violence will be deleted.
There is a story about a legendary Icelandic priest of the 12. century by the name Sæmundur Fróði.
This priest went around all of Iceland sprinkling the land with Holy Water, to consecrate the country and protect it from evil spirits.
One day he came to cliff in the north called Drangey. It was so steep, he could only get around it by binding himself with a rope.
All of sudden, the rope started to rip. When there was only one tiny string left on which Sæmundur was hanging, he heard the voice of the Lord calling:
“Sæmundur, Sæmundur stop it, don´t sprinkle this cliff!
There must be also a place for the evil ones!”
And Sæmundur went up the cliff and stopped sprinkling Drangey.
There are lots of Drangeys on the internet, here is not one of them.
